As summer approaches, it’s the perfect time to embrace the spirit of limitless possibilities and break free from the constraints of limiting beliefs.
In this month’s newsletter, I explore how to overcome self-imposed limitations, enjoy the summer holidays to the fullest, and unlock our true potential. This builds on my article about conquering self-sabotage for success.
The Power of Summer Holidays: Embracing Rest, Renewal, and Adventure
Summer holidays hold a special place in our hearts. They offer a much-needed respite from the demands of daily life, allowing us to indulge in relaxation, seek renewal, and embark on exciting adventures. It’s a time when we can step away from the hustle and bustle of our DOING lives, immerse ourselves in the season’s beauty, and embrace the joys of leisure.
During the summer holidays, we have the opportunity to hit the pause button and prioritise our well-being. It’s a chance to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with ourselves and our loved ones. By taking a break from work, we create space for reflection, introspection, and the cultivation of fresh perspectives. A space for BEING with who we truly are.
Rest is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. It is during these precious moments of rest that our bodies and minds rejuvenate, replenishing our energy and revitalising our spirits. Whether lounging on a sandy beach, strolling through picturesque landscapes, or simply enjoying a good book in a tranquil setting, summer holidays offer the perfect backdrop for restful experiences.
But summer holidays are not just about rest; they are also an invitation to explore and discover. They present an opportunity to venture into the unknown, step outside our comfort zones, and embrace the wonders of the world around us. From hiking in breathtaking mountain ranges to immersing ourselves in new cultures, summer holidays open doors to endless possibilities.
To make the most of your summer holiday experiences, here are a few tips and personal anecdotes to inspire you:
- Embrace Spontaneity: Allow yourself to be open to unexpected adventures and serendipitous moments. Sometimes, the most memorable experiences happen when we let go of rigid plans and follow our instincts. And if you saw my recent post about our travel nightmare I can attest to the fact that responding with spontaneity allows you to be so much more present and even turn a challenging experience into a powerful memory.
- Immerse in Nature: Seek out natural landscapes that inspire awe and provide a sense of tranquility. Whether it’s a secluded beach, a serene forest, or a picturesque mountain range, spending time in nature can be incredibly rejuvenating allowing us to connect to Mother Nature and therefore our true selves.
- Connect with Loved Ones: Use this time to strengthen bonds with family and friends. Plan activities that promote togetherness and create lasting memories. It could be a shared meal, an outdoor game (have you tried Kubb? – it’s lots of fun!), or simply engaging in heartfelt conversations – without or without a refreshing cocktail or mocktail!
- Try Something New: Break away from your routine and embrace new experiences. Engage in activities that challenge you and broaden your horizons. It could be learning a new water sport, attending a cultural event, or exploring a different cuisine.
- Unplug and Reconnect: Take a break from technology and give yourself the gift of uninterrupted presence. Disconnecting from screens and social media allows us to fully engage with our surroundings and the people we are with.
Remember, summer holidays are not just a break from work; they are an opportunity to nourish your mind, body, and soul. So, embrace the freedom and possibilities that summer brings, and create a season filled with rest, renewal, and adventure.
Book of the Month
Eat to Beat Your Diet: Burn fat, heal your metabolism, live longer

There is something about going on holiday that makes me take a look at my eating habits and reassess them. It’s probably something to do with eating out, not cooking for myself, and the temptation of cooling ice creams. This year I anticipated this and brought the perfect book with me…
In “Eat to Beat Your Diet: Burn Fat, Heal Your Metabolism, Live Longer” Dr. William Li unveils a groundbreaking approach to weight loss and metabolic health. This completely up-to-date book breaks free from restrictive diets and empowers you to harness the potential of food to optimize your metabolism and enhance your overall well-being.
Dr. Li dives into cutting-edge research, revealing how specific foods can activate your body’s natural fat-burning processes and promote a healthy metabolism. With practical strategies and evidence-based advice, it teaches you to make nourishing choices that support weight loss, boost energy levels, and promote longevity.
Mindfulness Tip
I have a straightforward mindfulness tip that I made the most of when we were caught in our travel nightmare.
Take your thumb and forefinger and rub them together with so much attention that you can feel the individual ridges of your fingerprints. Do this until you feel yourself quietening and calming down. Then take a deep breath and embrace the challenge with the presence of a Jedi!
