7 – The power of affirmations

Affirmations date back to the late 19th Century when French psychologist, Emile Coué, observed that patients recovered faster if they repeated a positive suggestion each day.

Research shows that repeating self-affirmations produces physical changes in brain regions associated with self-processing, ultimately impacting our view of ourselves. These changes are associated with subsequent positive changes in our behaviour.
